Saudi Cabinet stresses importance of implementing Riyadh Agreement for Yemen peace

RIYADH: The weekly Saudi Cabinet meeting, chaired by King Salman, on Tuesday called for the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement to restore peace in Yemen.
The ministers reaffirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to achieve security in the war-torn country.
The Cabinet also reiterated its condemnation of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia’s launching of missiles and drones targeting Saudi Arabia, which is a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws.
Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, minister of commerce, and acting media minister, said the council of ministers also reviewed the latest regional and international issues.
The Cabinet discussed the latest local and international efforts in the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The ministers reviewed the local efforts against COVID-19 and the efforts made to procure vaccines.The Cabinet also discussed the Kingdom’s advanced ranking of G20 member states in several security-related indexes of the international competitiveness report 2019, as well a s the sustainable development report 2020, surpassing the veto-holding countries of the UN Security Council. Saudi Arabia also ranked first at the Arab level and 22nd worldwide in the international index for artificial intelligence.
